WOLF PACK RUNNING CLUB
Walk or Run with the Wolf Pack!
Meeting Dates and Time:
Every Wednesday starting March 20th thru May 1st (excluding the week of Spring Break) before school from 8:10 AM to 9:10 AM. Students will be dismissed into school to start their school day with first bell. In the event of bad weather or the temperature is below 32 degrees, we will not meet. Information about cancellations will be emailed to parents at the email provided by 8:00 PM the night before. If needed, a makeup meeting will be May 8th.
Location:
Check in at Winterpock Elementary Bus Loop. Drop off follows the school’s morning drop off procedures. After 8:15 AM, a parent must park and walk their child to check in.
Purpose: To promote the enjoyment of physical activity while allowing students to socialize.
Our goals are for students to improve the amount of time they run over the 6 weeks, increase their distance each week, work towards completing an “end-of-season” fun run, and to have FUN. Students will learn about goal setting and work to improve performance. They will also be given tips each week on becoming a successful and healthy runner or walker. A Monday Memo will be distributed via email with information about that week’s meeting. We are planning for the Pack to participate as a group in a local fun run during or at the end of the season.
Students should come prepared on Wednesdays to walk/run with tennis shoes and warm, comfortable exercise clothes. Students should also bring their own water. We welcome younger siblings accompanied by parents to walk/run with us! We will keep track of the distance the students walk/run each meeting and running chains and charms will be given out as students reach certain goals.
Register:
Student registration closed March 13, 2019 at 4pm.
Student registration fee is $40.00 for PTA members and $45 for non-members and due no later than March 13th. You may pay by cash or check (made payable to Winterpock PTA). Registration and payment must be received no later than March 13th to participate. Each registered child will receive a t-shirt.
Volunteer:
Volunteers come out early and support our Pack runners! All abilities are welcome – runners, joggers and walkers too. We will need assistance with checking in students, supervising, leading warm up/cool down, handing out sticks as the Pack completes laps, recording accomplishments and, most importantly, ensuring a safe, encouraging and fun atmosphere for our Pack. Volunteer all 6 weeks or only those you can commit to.
Sponsor:
Sponsorship opportunities are available. We welcome individuals and businesses to support this program. As a sponsor, you will receive advertising benefits, such as logo placement on our weekly eblast, PTA newsletter and t-shirt and mentions on WPES social media outlets. Our hope is that you too will support our efforts in promoting the enjoyment of lifetime physical activity while allowing students to build relationships with their peers. For sponsorship information, please email running.club@winterpockpta.org.
